Dr. Michael is a Master Teacher I of Buenaventura Alandy National High School in the Philippines. He is a graduate of Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education from Southern Luzon State University. He showed an outstanding contribution in the field of science and research in the school and in the division which greatly improved the delivery of teaching and learning in the new normal.

His empirical observations and interviews with the parents/guardians depicted that most of the learners find it difficult to learn the concepts in the module due to lack of teacher guidance and facilitation for learning. Thus, he created the MathSciKEL team to address the learners’ concerns. Working together with the modules received by the learners in Mathematics and Science, the localized and contextualized videos were uploaded in the YouTube channel MathSciKEL in a weekly basis in congruent with the budget of work. However, some of the students do not have gadgets at all. Thus, he and his team collaborated with the respective barangays where the learners reside so that those with limited internet access can still watch the supplementary educational videos while answering their modules.
