Dr. John Paul G. Buenaventura completed his Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Certificate of Professional Teaching Program at the National Teachers College and finished his Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Business Administration at the Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST Manila), and he is pursuing his Post-Doctoral Diploma in Quality Management at Centro Escolar University-Manila.

He has been a manager, a barista, and a food server in the hospitality industry for 7 years in various places in Manila and Makati. He is a Licensed Professional Teacher, TESDA NCII and III holder, a Certified Hospitality Professional, a Certified Guest Service Professional, a Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator, a Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, and a Certified Franchising Business Investment Consultant.

He is a former college dean of ABE International Business College-Makati Campus. He teaches at St. Paul University-Manila under the College of Business Management, Graduate School, and National University Manila in the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management. In addition to his academic career, he is also a published author, having written several books on hospitality and tourism management. He received recognition as professional educator, best teaching performance and outstanding author.
