Dr. Emmanuel A. Onsay is a Certified Public Accountant, economist, data analyst, and assistant professor at Partido State University, Camarines Sur, Philippines. He completed his Master in Applied Economics at De La Salle University in just over a year, producing multiple publications, papers, and presentations, and joined the Sakura Science Exchange Program in Japan. He earned his PhD by Research in Data Science and Informatics with specialization in economics, finance, and quantitative social sciences from the University of the Philippines Los Baños in 2025 through an accelerated 2.5-year program, publishing nine Scopus- and WoS-indexed papers. He has received numerous distinctions, including 3 University Presidential Citations, 7 Kilyab Awards, and the Outstanding Faculty Award (youngest recipient, 2023), consistently maintaining a top performance rating. With over 25 publications in reputable journals, he is recognized as one of the leading young scholars in his fields. Beyond academics, he is a kind-hearted advocate for animals and environmental sustainability.
His research interests and specializations include research methods; data analytics, statistics, and machine learning for economics, finance, and the social sciences; mathematical poverty economics, public economics, and applied econometrics; accountancy, auditing, financial accounting, and cost accounting; quantitative finance and quantitative social sciences; impact evaluation and the economics of disaster; crop accounting and the economics of indigenous communities; as well as cultural analytics and the economics of education.
