Inspirational Success Story

Boby Rose Ricaforte initiated and implemented the I-RISE extension program at Aklan District Jail impacting over 400 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) since 2018. This comprehensive program provided a multifaceted approach to rehabilitation, including wellness initiatives, income-generating projects, and personality development seminars. Building on its success, from I-RISE (Reinforce, Innovate, Serve & Empower) to the I-RISEWeRise initiative was introduced, offering foster parenting support to children of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). The Program was sustained and monitored since 2018 up to present. As a result, she was awarded with numerous recognitions including the recent Most Outstanding Aklanon (MOA) in Community Service 2024.

As a dedicated and passionate advocate for community service, she has consistently demonstrated her commitment to creating positive change through her involvement with 1 GANAP Guardians – the New Breed of Guardians International Incorporated, a non-government organization focused on community-based initiatives. Starting as an active member in 2021, she rapidly rose through the ranks, serving as Chapter President of Warriors Chapter in Libas, Banga, Aklan, and ultimately being elected as National Secretary General in 2024. Throughout her tenure, she has been instrumental in organizing and participating in various community service activities, including blood donation drives and clean-up initiatives. Her tireless efforts have earned her recognition as an Outstanding Volunteer of National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) 2024.

Her consistency and dedication to excellence have been evident in her leadership of the I-RISE Program (Reinforce, Innovate, Serve, and Empower), a school-based initiative that has been successfully replicated and strengthened with community stakeholders. She has also supported various programs, including Service-oriented ATRSIS Nurturing Guru (SANAG), PADUNGOG, BANga Achievers and Action-oriented Guru (BANAAG), and TriSeeSchool, during the pandemic. Additionally, she contributed to the development of the MAPEH Coffee Table Book for the District of Banga. Her outstanding work has earned her prestigious recognitions, the most prominent is receiving recognition from the National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP).

As a passionate advocate for wellness, she has volunteered to serve as a community volunteer, promoter and Coach of wellness programs in Aklan, leveraging multiple platforms such as the Wellness and Fitness Program of Kalibo since 2012 to 2018, Hataw 2014 to 2017, Bombo Fun Fitness 2021, and in different Municipalities in Aklan. She has also shared her expertise with various organizations, including the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Girl Scouts of the Philippines, local government units (LGUs), and indigenous communities. Her tireless efforts have earned her numerous awards and recognitions, and she has been warmly adopted as a daughter by communities in Alaminos and Madalag, Aklan, a testament to her dedication and impact. This was an advocate in the application of learning and development. As a result, she was honored as a Civil Service Commission (CSC) 2023 Dangal ng Bayan Regional Awardee.

Volunteered and recognized Community Speaker/Sharer for Gender and Development and Violence Against Women and Youth Empowerment Programs in the Province of Aklan: this lead her to innovate Project EOPAD (Empowering Optimum Programs Action Development which was Championed Innovation in the District of Banga, and 2^nd Runner Up in the Province of Aklan.

She initiated the environmental, cultural, and historical activity ‘Pagtanom it Pag-asa’ (Planting Hope) in 2022, in partnership with the Sangguniang Kabataan of Libas, Banga, Aklan, and various non-government organizations and government sectors, including the Catholic Women’s League (CWL), where she serves as a Board of Director. Inspired by Jose Rizal’s quote, ‘The youth is the hope of the fatherland,’ the program aims to inspire youth involvement in tree planting and community-based awareness for environmental conservation. Through numerous partnerships, “Pagtanom it Pag-asa” has gained recognition and support, including a notable collaboration with the West Visayan Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) Meet in 2023 with Negros Occidental. The program brought together over 10 government and non-government organizations, including the PNP, DepEd, LGU officials, and students, who planted over 80 trees in a single day.

The initiative has gone sustainable, with participants encouraged to plant trees in their respective backyards or community spaces through simultaneous virtual planting. To date, over 300 fruit-bearing and ‘Aeabihig’ trees have been planted, demonstrating the program’s impact and potential for long-term environmental benefits.” In this action, she was recognized by the Regional Development Council (RDC) VI, and the Philippine National Volunteers Service Association (PNVSA) as Regional Winner and National Nominee.
