She began her employment with OSFI on January 15, 2024 as a Caseworker and was promoted to Program Head effective May 1, 2026. Her work covers program planning, implementation, monitoring, field coordination, partnership-building, and staff support across the Foundation’s education, health, scholarship, child-protection, and community-development initiatives.

Before joining OSFI, Ms. Manabat served as Program Lead for the 2022 Nutritional Supplemental Feeding Program of R.O. Valerio Integrated Farm, implemented with Bacolor Elementary School and local government and health partners. She also completed values-based leadership formation through the School of Teachers and participated in Church Planting and Mission activities of Jesus Is Lord Church Worldwide–Pampanga. These experiences strengthened her skills in volunteer mobilization, mentoring, facilitation, trust-building, and grassroots service.

Inspirational Success Story:

Gerralyn B. Manabat is compassionate, disciplined, and action-oriented leadership in developing and implementing community programs for children, families, and vulnerable populations, particularly those in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. As Program Head of Orani Suhay Foundation, Inc. (OSFI), she translates identified community needs into coordinated interventions in health, early childhood education, nutrition, youth development, and child protection. Her leadership is grounded in direct engagement with communities and in the careful coordination of staff, volunteers, local leaders, government agencies, and private partners.
Ms. Manabat’s contribution is distinguished by her ability to connect immediate assistance with longer-term community development. She does not approach outreach as a one-time activity; she works to strengthen frontline workers, establish partnerships, improve implementation systems, and encourage communities to participate actively in sustaining programs.

Ms. Manabat’s principal exemplary achievement was her project leadership of OSFI’s 25th Anniversary Community Health Outreach in Barangay Guban, Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte, held on July 17–18, 2026. Barangay Guban is a geographically isolated community where distance and limited access to health services create significant barriers for families. As Project Lead and Facilitator, she helped transform a complex outreach plan into a coordinated, community-based health intervention.
Under her coordination, the mission delivered free medical consultations, essential medicines, health education, blood donation services, and women’s health interventions to 609 beneficiaries, exceeding the original target of 500. The activity brought together more than 70 volunteers and representatives from different professional and partner groups. It also generated 47 blood bags and provided 17 cervical cancer screenings, extending the mission beyond general consultation to preventive and potentially life-saving services.
Her role required strategic planning, partner coordination, volunteer management, logistical preparation, service-flow monitoring, and immediate problem-solving in a remote field setting. The mission’s significance lies not only in the number of people served but also in the trust built among families, local leaders, health professionals, and partner organizations. It demonstrated that a well-coordinated nonprofit initiative can bring quality health services closer to underserved communities while strengthening local participation and institutional partnerships.

Ms. Manabat demonstrates that meaningful civic work requires more than goodwill. It requires listening, preparation, accountability, collaboration, and the humility to work alongside the people being served. Her leadership shows colleagues and community members that professional skills can be used not only to deliver services but also to strengthen people’s ability to participate in their own development.
Her journey—from community nutrition advocacy and faith-based volunteer service to professional social work and nonprofit program leadership—offers an example that others can emulate. She consistently brings together people from different sectors around a shared purpose, while remaining attentive to the dignity and actual needs of children, families, and vulnerable groups. Her example encourages staff, volunteers, and local leaders to lead with compassion, act with integrity, and measure success by the positive and lasting difference made in people’s lives.
