Dr. Chompunuch is a lecturer in the department of tourism and hotel management at University of Phayao, Thailand. She graduated Doctor of Philosophy in Tourism Management in University of Otago, New Zealand. Her professional experience involves a great deal of undergraduate and postgraduate professorship in several universities in Thailand. Her notable academic achievement was her Bournemouth Resort Prize for Highest Academic Achievement during the Postgraduate Taught Masters Programmes by Leisure & Tourism Directorate, Bournemouth Borough Council.
Her research mainly focuses on tourism, tourism marketing, health and wellness tourism, cross-border tourism and tourism policy and planning. She published several papers in international journals including her evaluation of the health and wellness tourism in Thailand and Malaysia. She co-authored a number of research publications in international journals as well as national and international conferences. She mentored a number of postgraduate students in their thesis and dissertations from 2014 to 2020. She has completed Thailand Research Fund (TRF) and Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) funded research projects in 2018 and 2019, respectively. She is an editorial board member and reviewer of an international journal in hospitality and tourism.
