Inspirational Success Story:
Mr. Alvin O. Insorio is the proponent of Project HEART (Harmonizing Educational Research for Teachers) in SDO San Pedro aims to promote the culture of action research in the Schools Division Office of San Pedro City through teachers’ research capability training, providing action research templates, mentoring and coaching mechanisms, and dissemination and utilization of completed action research. Also, he is the editor-in-chief of PROBE – Practical Research On Basic Education: A SPRCNHS Research Journal of Teachers and Students, an official research journal of San Pedro Relocation Center National High School, archived at the SDO San Pedro website, aims to collect completed research manuscripts of teachers and students and publish (print) them in a local journal accessible to the school stakeholders.
In addition, he is the proponent of the SPRCNHS Virtual Research Hub via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and the YouTube channel aims to disseminate properly the SPRCNHS research news, updates, resources, templates, presentations, research-related videos, completed research, and published research articles accessible to the general public through social media. Moreover, he proposed and implemented Gawad KAMPEON – Kawani Alisto, Marangal at Pinagpipitaganan sa Edukason aims to acknowledge and reward the outstanding performance of teachers, teaching-related, non-teaching personnel, and stakeholders who have contributed nobility, created breakthroughs, and implemented innovation at San Pedro Relocation Center National High School, and Project ADDING – Addressing Diversity Through Differentiated Instruction for Numeracy Gaining aims to address learner diversity in mathematics classes to gain numeracy skills at San Pedro Relocation Center National High School.
On the other hand, he published 21 research articles in various peer-reviewed online journals and presented research papers at international and local conferences. As a research advocate, he capacitates teachers through speaking engagements at various schools in Laguna, provides technical assistance through coaching and mentoring of teachers in writing action research, and joins the teachers to present their research papers in international conferences. Meanwhile, as a research teacher for nine years at the senior high school department of San Pedro Relocation Center National High School, he guided his students to write publishable research papers to be published at the PROBE journal and construct video presentations to be uploaded to the YouTube channel for proper dissemination.
As a research coordinator, he capacitated his co-teachers to produce action research and presented it in the division research congress, assisted his co-teachers in writing a research report, and published it in the PROBE journal. As President of the San Pedro City Division Research Association, he assists the SDO San Pedro in building a research culture through online training of teachers, coaching and mentoring of researchers, and engaging teachers in the Division research congress.
