Inspirational Success Story:

Dr. L. M. R. J. Lobo through his 33 years of service has demonstrated an attachment embodied with affection towards his students and has expressed in whole his passion towards teaching. This has inspired his other colleagues not only in his department but at the institute to elevate their offerings to their own students and selflessly contribute to enhance their commitment required in this noble profession of teaching. His respectful communication in person and in public presentations has created a healthy environment to foster positive work performance in a healthy atmosphere.

Dr. L. M. R. J. Lobo regularly practices the ‘Teaching Through Examples’ theory which includes delivering a concept even in Engineering through an analogy or an example. Such a practice has been very beneficial to a student. This has proved to achieve good results through the outcome based approach. Students are also examined by strategies followed by him innovatively by a ‘One Minute Test’ which in some cases even lets us know if the muddiest point in a lecture delivered is understood by students. This has been proved also during his conduction of Three Short term training sessions coordinated at National Level for teachers in the country. These workshops were sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education. His presentations during conferences, in which the same practices are used with innovations have made him proud to receive three best paper awards at National and International level. Such practices definitely benefit the student community holding a teacher high.
The following points highlight Dr. L. M. R. J. Lobo and I wish to state that he has brought inspiration to the organization and community:
1. His selfless efforts for the student community. Dr. L.M.R.J. Lobo makes himself always available to the students. He motivates them in their journey of learning. He not only helps them in their technical difficulties but also in their moments of facing pressure and stress. Whenever a student faces any specific problem and there is no immediate solution due to lack of information, he takes time to understand the problem, read from resources, contemplate and then gives the probable solution to students. He never will try to in a haste give a solution that will lead a student to a blind alley.
2. His efforts towards contributing as a resource person. Being a constant learner through years he has a good knowledge of subjects in his discipline. He has taught almost 34 courses to students of UG and PG students. He has also plunged into understanding emerging areas of technology, Design Thinking, Innovation, Startups and entrepreneurship. He contributes as a resource person for programs organized at the institute and for the student and faculty community outside the institution. He has also given his services as an evaluator for other institutions of the university he is affiliated to and also other state universities. He has also been a keynote speaker for many conferences and programs organized at state and national level.
3. His efforts towards the University for developing student centric systems. He has contributed as a Chairman and member of Board of Studies in his domain right from 1992 working for setting the curriculum, bringing updates and implementing decisions that are student Centric.
4. His contribution as a Research guide in supporting students for their projects, Dissertations and Advanced Research work: He has guided more than 100 under graduate projects, 26 post graduate dissertations and is guiding 02 research scholars for their Ph.D work. He guides students to write research papers and has published 06 papers with UG students and 52 papers with PG students. He also contributes to many research papers on his own research for the benefit of society for which he has a good number of citations.
5. Generating funds for organizing events at the organization for faculty and Students He has written proposals and submitted to the AICTE and P.A.H. Solapur University, Solapur. The following events/Projects have received a grant SDP – Staff Development Program “Persona for Effective Teaching” by AICTE, New Delhi SDP – Staff Development Program “Active Teaching Strategies – A New Perspective” by AICTE, New Delhi R&D Project “Prediction of Product Sale on Discount Based on Historical Statistics” sanctioned by Institute of Engineers, India(IE(I) SG – National Seminar on Recent Trends in Cloud Computing Seminar Grant by AICTE, New Delhi, India SG – National seminar on “Recent Trends in Data mining” sponsored by PAH Solapur University, India Scheme for Promoting Interests, Creativity and Ethics among Students (SPICES) by MIC, AICTE, New Delhi.
