Jerico is a teacher II in Malining Elementary School, General Nakar, Philippines. He completed his Master in Education major in Educational Management at Northern Quezon College Incorporated.

Teacher Jerico deserves to be recognized for his utmost dedication and great service to the students of Malining Elementary School. He is an unsung hero in the field of teaching for his selfless contribution to the education of the students in the far-flung school of Malining. Although he has a choice to accept an assignment in a nearby area, he remained committed to Malining Elementary School.

In the GMA 7’s i-Witness documentary hosted by Ms. Kara David, he shared his life and struggles as a teacher in General Nakar. He walks for two days and hikes mountains to reach the farthest school in the town of General Nakar, Quezon Province. He sacrificed the comfort of own home, privilege of modern school facilities and ease of public transport for the dreams of the students in Malining Elementary School.
