Joseph S. Butawan is a promising member of the DepEd Family since 2014. In the 6 years he has served in the public school system, he has developed his talents and skills both as educator and as a researcher. This earned him an OUTSTANDING performance rating for the last two (2) years and acknowledged as OUTSTANDING RESEARCHER IN SCHOOL, GAWAD SUMILANG and 3rd Placer GAWAD BANDILA, BEST ORAL PRESENTER, BEST ABSTRACT PAPER, BEST RESEARCH PAPER, OUTSTANDING TEACHER OF THE YEAR, AND OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR IN COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT in the international level. His innate curiosity and quest for excellence prompted him to engage in various studies that would help improve the teaching and learning process. His passion for research is evident when he became a research presenter in the local and international research conferences, invited as a facilitator and resource speaker of different research forum in the province of Cavite, and a manuscript reviewer and evaluator of research journals and a registered book author of the National Book Development Board (NBDB). Furthermore, as an experienced teacher, he was able to share his expertise in writing research in College and Masters Graduate students and also in public elementary and high school teachers and students, helping them to produce basic and action research outputs, some of which were presented into different research conferences and awarded as outstanding researcher, best presenter, best abstract and best research paper. As the Research Coordinator of the school, he was able to coach and assisted teachers to conduct their own research and invited to be their resource speaker in the school, district, and the division of Cavite Province. His educational qualification as a PhD student of Educational Management in De La Salle University Dasmariñas and as a recipient scholar combined with his extensive experiences as a researcher and book author makes him more than deserving of the award.
