Patrick A. Nyathi is currently a lecturer in the History of Education in the Department of Educational Foundations at the University of South Africa (UNISA), having previously taught at the University of Zululand. He is a former secondary school teacher and served as Head of the Social Sciences Department at Nimrod Ndebele Senior Secondary School in Gauteng province, South Africa. He holds BA and MA degrees in History from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a B.Ed. degree from the University of Zululand and is currently pursuing a PhD in History at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. His research interests include environmental history, rural history, and the history of education and rural education, with a particular focus on land dispossession and traditional leadership in South African contexts. He has published research articles in reputable international and local journals related to these areas.
