Professional Background

Dr. Cereneo S. Santiago Jr. is an accomplished academic and researcher with a strong foundation in computing, education, and research evaluation. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Master in Information Technology, and a Master of Arts in Education, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy major in Research and Evaluation. He serves as Associate Professor IV and Coordinator of the Research Services and Knowledge Management Unit at Cavite State University – Silang Campus, where he also teaches under the Department of Information Technology.

Mr. Santiago brings over 15 years of experience in higher education, having previously served in multiple administrative roles. His academic and professional journey is enriched by experience in the corporate sector and engagements with other academic institutions. His scholarly work spans across fields like artificial intelligence, education technology, usability, cybersecurity, healthcare, and agricultural innovations. He has authored and co-authored over 30 research publications in Scopus-indexed and international refereed journals. He has also presented in international conferences and earned accolades including Best Paper and Best Presenter Awards.

Mr. Santiago is a peer reviewer for various institutional and international journals and serves as an associate/review editor for the CvSU Research Journal and other scholarly publications. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the National Research Council of the Philippines. Guided by a passion for responsible and inclusive technology, Mr. Santiago continues to mentor students, lead research initiatives, and initiate innovation in teaching, research, and community extension. His professional journey exemplifies commitment to excellence, leadership, and service in the field of information technology and education.
