About Laurel Award

Laurel Award is the Institute's celebration and recognition of its fellows. It embodies IIARI’s commitment to the formulation of community of scholars driven by passion for life-long learning and community service. The LA aims to honor the contribution of junior, national and international fellows to IIARI, academic community and the society, in general.

OBJECTIVES

The LA aims to:

  • honor the contributions of IIARI fellows to the Institute and beyond;
  • recognize the achievements of the IIARI fellows;
  • provide platform for the emulation of exemplary and inspiring works of IIARI fellows;
  • foster leadership and service among IIARI fellows; and
  • form a community of scholars driven by passion for life-long learning and community service.

 

CATEGORIES

Silver Laurel Award. This award is given to a fellow who achieved the minimum components of at least three criteria.

Golden Laurel Award. This award is given to a fellow who was awarded silver laurel and achieved all the components of the five criteria.

These awards are given only to the duly recognized international, national, junior and lifetime fellows of the Institute. The awardee should have a valid unexpired membership at the time of the selection. 

CRITERIA

Publication. The fellow has to continuously publish (1) journal article and/or (2) book in IIARI. Publication of journal article includes conference proceedings journal while publication of book includes as editor of an edited book collection and author of a chapter.

Leadership. The fellow has to serve as (1) chair, co-chair or member of any committee and/or (2) speaker in any academic event in IIARI. Academic events include webinars, conferences, research competitions, awards and benchmarking.

Community engagement. The fellow has to perform service whether academic or non-academic (1) in IIARI and/or (2) other institutions representing IIARI. Academic or non-academic services include roles as reviewer, evaluator, technical working group, and board membership.

Excellence. The fellow received award from (1) IIARI and/or (2) other institutions. Awards that require no registration and payment including authorship, leadership, service, teaching, research and employment service.

Integrity. The fellow has to uphold (1) commitment to professional development and/or (2) commitment to educational excellence. Commitment refers to the continuous upgrade of knowledge and skills through attendance in formal and informal education programs and assumption of higher academic leadership roles.

SELECTION OF AWARDEES

There is no application for the award. The IIARI team composed of editorial heads (journal, conference & events) evaluate membership of recorgnized fellows in any of the activities and programs. The team ensures that all fellows are given equal chances to participate in all its undertakings. To become an awardee, the following are the minimum requirements:

SILVER LAUREL AWARD

  • Publication of journal articles in IIARI.
  • Leadership as chair, co-chair or member of any IIARI committee.
  • Community engagement in academic or non-academic IIARI events.
  • Excellence as awardee in IIARI.
  • Integrity in upholding professional development.

GOLDEN LAUREL AWARD

  • Publication of journal article and book in IIARI.
  • Leadership as chair, co-chair or member of any committee and speaker in any IIARI academic event.
  • Community engagement in academic or non-academic events in and outside IIARI.
  • Excellence as awardee in IIARI and external institutions.
  • Integrity in upholding professional development and educational excellence.
