MAJOR HIGHLIGHTS OF THE COURSE
This training course is offered to beginners of English language. It aims to equip the learners with the necessary English communication skills that can be applied in university, office and business settings. It also aims to guide and help learners in English placement tests such as IELTS. The primary specific focus of the course is academic and business English. It provides powerful daily lessons that help improve the learners’ listening, reading, speaking and writing skills.
Learning Outcomes
The training course expects students to:
1. develop proficiency in listening and reading English conversations and short/long essays;
2. use appropriate vocabulary and English grammar in speaking and writing;
3. orally present a case, a research-based information campaign or a product marketing;
4. prepare written academic essay, business document or business proposal using proper English vocabulary and grammar.

Course contents
•Vocabulary: academic terms, business jargons and office processes and procedures. •Grammar: verbs and tenses, parts of speech and sentence construction. •Listening: annotation of salient points, getting the gist and understanding details. •Reading: scanning and skimming information, getting the main topic or idea and understanding long and complex cases and texts. •Speaking: understanding and presenting facts or cases, delivering a product marketing and presenting a business proposal. •Writing: develop different forms of short and long essays, prepare business correspondence and formulate basic business plans.
Assessment and Feedback
At the end of each video lecture, there is an assessment in the form of quiz, essay or practical application depending on the nature of the topic. While some topics require lower order thinking skills, learners are also given higher order thinking skill activities in the form of scenario-based questions or practical applications. You should get correct answers of 50% or higher in each assessment to pass the course. The details of each assessment are provided in the assessment guidelines.

How to register?

- Register directly through Moodle. After verifying your email, login to the Moodle and choose any course. Enroll to any course directly by paying the appropriate course fee via PayPal.
Sign in to the Moodle and start with your ONLINE LEARNING experience! Ensure that you complete the required sections of the course especially the assessments at the end of each lecture. Once you have completed the online course, you will instantly unlock and download the TWO e-certificates.
