I am Sharmine Osias Saez, a field study student at Laguna University, where I am pursuing a Bachelor of Secondary Education with a major in Mathematics. I hold the position of Vice-Chairperson in Mathematics for the Laguna University Experiential Learning Courses (ELC) officers for interns, a role that allows me to contribute actively to the student body and support my peers in their teaching journey. My academic achievements include consistent placements on the Dean’s List, as well as notable success in competitions, such as first place in the Pi Day Krypto Competition. My interest in research began in senior high school, where I developed an eco-friendly floor wax using banana peel (Musa acuminata) during the pandemic, introducing me to experimental methodologies and sustainable practices. Additionally, my research group and I recently presented our study at the ASREI Research Conference on October 25, 2024. With a focus on innovative teaching, mental health, and active student engagement, I am committed to building an inclusive and effective classroom environment where students can thrive in mathematics and beyond.
