Dr. Pua Shiau Chen serves as Associate Professor at the Institute of International education, New Era University, College, Malaysia since 2022. Her area of expertise includes: Art and Social Science Studies; Aesthetic and Cultural Studies; Education and Technology.
Dr. Pua Shiau Chen received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chinese Studies, and a Ph.D. in Ancient Chinese Literature. Her research interests include art and social science, aesthetic, education technology, as well as cultural studies. She also explores the intersections of art and technology,education and media and art and psychology education in contemporary contexts.
Dr. Pua has full of experience and good achievement in teaching and academic researches. She had taught Bachelor Degree course, Master and PhD course in Chinese studies for 8 years at Institute of Chinese Studies, University Tunku Abdul Rahman(2012-2020). Meanwhile, she was supervisor and had taught the Master and PhD courses in Chinese studies at Institute of education, New Era University, College, Malaysia, since 2022.
Dr. Pua received the Excellent Performance Congratulation Letter/Award for teaching performance for her Excellence in Teaching Performance for the subject Chinese Culture and Civilization in 2013, Introduction to Chinese Studies in 2013-2014 and Chinese Language and Rhetoric in 2015 from University Tunku Abdul Rahman, Malaysia. She had conducted 2 research projects from UTAR Research Fund, Malaysia and 1 research project( Editorial and Writer of the Research Project: Encyclopedia of Hangzhou Buddhist Culture) of Center for Buddhist Studies at the University of Arizona, United State,2022-2024.
Dr. Pua had published 16 Journal articles (2 CSSCI, 1 THCI Q3, 13 refereed journal), 6 articles in conference proceeding (2 Scopus), 11 articles on book/chapter in book (1 Scopus ) and 22 Conference Article (Conference Handbook). She had conducted more than 55 presentations either as invited speaker, workshop presenter, training presenter, training course presenter and conference paper presenter at international and national conferences.
