Integration of Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) in Artificial Intelligence: A New Leaning to Education

Helmer B. Montejo
Volume 5 Issue 1, July 2024

As the primary reference of any academic institution in determining the type of learning delivery, most essential learning competencies must be identified not just for school but for life. When planning the teaching program, the resources to use, the choice of language and topic, and the role that the teachers get learners to take in their own learning, essential learning competencies will come into play because they are the core of all the teaching that goes on. In Talisay City College, a growing campus trend in using artificial intelligence is emerging among teachers. With the advent of science and technology, teachers are utilizing artificial intelligence in any form possible to deliver lessons to students in a most sophisticated way. Since teachers considered artificial intelligence as relevant in this time and age, it led to the development that necessitates designing and implementing artificial intelligence in classroom discussions, assignment submission, and project completion. This study reveals the importance of integration of most essential learning competencies (MELC) in artificial intelligence as it positively affects students’ performances. This study further reveals the importance of human-tool collaboration in the promotion of proper use of artificial intelligence. Lastly, this study encourages teachers to keep up with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
