This research aims to develop and evaluate a curricular enhancement designed to improve the communicative competence of Junior High School learners in the Laurel District. The study involved 343 junior high school students during the School Year 2022-2023 and utilized descriptive and correlational analysis methods, including weighted mean and Pearson-r correlation. The findings reveal that social media platforms significantly impact language development, with Twitter showing the most substantial influence while TikTok has a moderate effect. Students' self-assessment of their communicative language skills indicated that Linguistic Competence was their strongest attribute. An analysis of language usage indicated that the highest rating was for Language Usage at home, suggesting a lower level of proficiency in other contexts. Moreover, a notable correlation was found between communicative competence and oral language usage. The proposed curriculum enhancement was deemed acceptable, with its structure receiving the highest rating, indicating complete acceptability. These findings emphasize the importance of language development, communicative competence, oral language usage, and curriculum enhancement within the educational framework for high school students.
