This research study aimed to find out the lived experiences of newly-hired teachers from private school in the District of Pandan. On the other hand, descriptive phenomenology research design was used. The study utilized seven (7) newly hired teachers from the four (4) public secondary schools in the District of Pandan, Division of Antique as participants. They were obtained using the purposive sampling in the identified schools from Patria National High School, Mag-Aba National High School, Sta.Ana National High School and Pandan National Vocational High School. The data were analyzed and interpreted using thematic analysis of Collaizzi’s method. The research instrument used was in the form of interview guide. The lived experiences of the newly-hired DepEd teachers from the private school were categorized into the following subthemes; diversity in learners and family background, cultural adjustment and shock, and challenging yet fulfilling experience. The challenges encountered were categorized into the following subthemes: managing student behavior; lack of background knowledge and requirements; insufficient resources; adjustment in the work environment; and internet connectivity issues. Coping mechanisms were categorized into the following subthemes: collaborative approach; adaptability and time management; research and continuous learning and senior teacher mentorship. The study recommends the Department of Education to support these newly hired teachers to be well-adjusted and effective 21st century teachers through the teacher induction program highlighting different workshops, namely; technology integration workshop, critical thinking pedagogy seminar and inclusive classroom management workshop.
