This study conducted at Capiz State University, Mambusao Satellite College investigates the language diversity among students from different municipalities in Capiz, including Mambusao, Sigma, Sapian, Jamindan, and Dao. The research employed a qualitative approach within a variationist sociolinguistic framework to describe linguistic variations in various categories such as Material Culture, Human, Social Structure, Cosmology, Flora, Fauna, Food, Functional words, Verbs, Pronouns, and Interrogatives. The study utilized purposive sampling to select 25 participants from the five municipalities based on specific criteria. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews and word translation tests, with translations sourced from the Marayum project funded by the Department of Science and Technology. The analysis revealed variations in terminology across different categories, highlighting both commonalities and unique linguistic nuances influenced by historical interactions and geographical proximity. The study emphasizes the importance of recognizing and preserving local languages as integral components of cultural identity and heritage, underscoring the need for linguistic inclusivity and understanding in diverse linguistic environments. The output of the study, titled BLT2: “Bridging languages, Translating Terminologies," aims to preserve and record terminologies among the five municipalities, contributing to the documentation and preservation of local linguistic heritage.
