Dionito F. Mangao Jr is an Education Program Specialist II for the Alternative Learning System (ALS) at the Department of Education, Division of Cavite Province. He holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology from the Technological University of the Philippines – Manila and has completed the academic requirements for a Doctorate in Information Technology from the University of the East – Manila. Mr. Mangao is a licensed professional teacher with a major in Social Studies.

Mr. Mangao’s career in academia is marked by key leadership roles, including serving as Director for Curriculum and Instruction and Research Unit Head at Cavite State University – Naic Campus. He also previously held the positions of College Dean at AMA Computer College – Makati Campus and Asia School of Arts and Sciences in Quezon City. An accomplished researcher, author, and editor, Mr. Mangao has served as Editor-in-Chief and author of several publications. Mr. Mangao has presented and published research at various division, national, and international conferences, particularly in the field of Alternative Learning Systems. He has been recognized for outstanding research paper presentations.

In his current role, Mr. Mangao provides critical education services to out-of-school children, youth, adults, persons deprived of liberty (PDL), and individuals in rehabilitation centers. He supports the Public Schools District Supervisor by coordinating ALS programs and projects, overseeing instructional supervision, monitoring and evaluating ALS activities, and offering technical assistance to ALS teachers, learning facilitators, mobile teachers, and volunteers at the district level. And finally, he is also responsible for the ALS publication services related like article, journal, and books in Alternative Learning System.
