Dr. James Andrew D. Oyo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Management, a Master of Science in Hospitality Management, and a Master in Business Administration with a major in Human Resource Management. He currently serves as a National Board Adviser of the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP) and as the national board director in charge of the COHREP Negros Island and Siquijor Chapter. He is a member of various international and national organizations, a volunteer with the Negros Occidental Tourism Division, and a member of the Tourism Industry Board Foundation Inc., the Union of Filipino Tourism Educators, and the Philippine Association of Hospitality and Tourism Researchers.

Dr. Oyo is also a Certified Hospitality Professional and Certified Tourism Professional and is affiliated with the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Professionals.
