Professional Background
Dr. Michael Bhobet B. Baluyot is a Restaurant and Resort Business Operations Consultant and a University Lecturer at various colleges and universities in Manila. He previously worked at ArmyNavy Burger Inc. for almost 10 years, holding positions such as Assistant Operations Manager, Senior Area Manager, and Restaurant Manager. Additionally, he has worked with several hotels in Manila, including Manila Pavilion Hotel and Casino, and Microtel Hotel by Wyndham. Currently, he serves as the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the Technological University of the Philippines Manila, overseeing programs in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Management, Master in Management, and Doctor of Management Science.
Dr. Baluyot graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Bataan Peninsula State University Main Campus. He earned his Master of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management and Doctorate in Hospitality Management at Philippine Women’s University Manila. Currently, he is completing his Doctor in Business Administration at the University of Perpetual Help Dalta, Las Piñas. He holds several professional certifications, including Certified Hospitality Management Professional (CHMP) awarded by the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Professionals, United Kingdom, and Certified Hospitality Industry Analytics (CHIA) granted by the American Hotel and Lodging Association. Additionally, he is a certified Food Safety Compliance Officer (FSCO), accredited by the Food Safety and Hygiene Academy of the Philippines.
Dr. Baluyot is an active member of various professional organizations, including the Certified Hospitality Management Professionals (CHMP), Association of Administrators in Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant Management Educational Institutions (AAHRMEI), Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP), and Philippine Association of Research for Tourism and Hospitality Inc. (PARTH). He actively presents his research both at national and international conferences and has published research papers in reputable indexed journals such as Web of Science, SCOPUS, and EBSCO.
Dr. Baluyot is also the author of several hospitality and tourism books, including Multicultural Diversity in the Workplace for Tourism Professionals, Supply Chain Management in the Hospitality Industry, and Quality Service Management in Tourism and Hospitality.
