Dr. Myla M. Arcinas is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology and Behavioral Sciences (DSBS) at De La Salle University (DLSU), where she also serves as the Quality Assurance Director for the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) and Vice Chair of the DLSU Research Ethics Review Committee. She is a research fellow at the Social Development Research Center (SDRC) and an adjunct faculty member at the University of the Philippines Open University’s Faculty of Education (UPOU-FEd). Her previous leadership roles include serving as DSBS Chairperson (2016-2020) and Assistant Dean for External Affairs and Lasallian Mission at CLA (2020-2022). Her excellence in academia has been recognized through multiple awards.
Dr. Arcinas’s research interests span e-learning, information and communication technologies (ICT), social research methodologies, youth and family studies, and organizational development. She serves on editorial boards and as a reviewer for several SCOPUS and Elsevier journals, including the Journal of Adolescent Health, Open Sage, Current Psychology, Asia Pacific Social Science Review, and Asia-Pacific Migration Journal. Beyond academia, she contributes her expertise as a consultant and resource person to various organizations, including local government agencies (TESDA, DOH, DepEd, DA) and international organizations (UNICEF, Save the Children, IFCU, WHO). She holds leadership positions in numerous professional organizations, including the International Human Rights Movement (IHRM)-Philippines, Pi Gamma Mu (International Society of the Social Sciences -Beta Chapter), and the Philippine Sociological Society (PSS). Dr. Arcinas completed her AB in Sociology (cum laude) from the University of the Philippines Los Baños, MA in Sociology from the University of the Philippines Diliman, and PhD in Sociology from De La Salle University.
