Professional Background
Richard Ryan Cua Villegas PhD, LPT obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in History, Master in History (Cum Laude) and Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Bachelor of Secondary Education-Major in Social Studies degrees from the University of Santo Tomas. He is a licenced professional teacher. He held teaching positions at the University of Santo Tomas and Centro Escolar University. He is currently affiliated with the National University as Associate Professor under the College of Education, Arts and Sciences where he is the incumbent coordinator for its mandatory course, The Nationalian. He is also a current member of the NU Heritage Committee. He is the editor-in-chief of the 3rd Edition of NAIA-Public Health Emergency and Contingency Plan commissioned and published by the Bureau of Quarantine and the Department of Health. He is an editorial board member and reviewer of various refereed local and international open-access journals including, The Journal of Restorative Justice (a Scopus-indexed journal. He is also a consultant for various research and publications endeavors such as the Embracing the Culture of Research (ETCOR). He just obtained his Post Doctoral Training Certificate in Economic History at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and his certificate of Spanish as foreign language from Instituto Cervantes, Manila.
