Dr. Rico S. Santos is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as Assistant Professor III at the Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig, where he has been a faculty member in the Information Technology program since 2011. He earned his Doctor in Information Technology from the Technological Institute of the Philippines – Manila, his Master of Information Technology from the University of the Philippines – Los Baños, and his Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology from the Technological University of the Philippines – Taguig. From June 2023 to December 2024, he served as Head of the Research and Development Services Office, where he led research coordination, proposal evaluation, researcher supervision, inter-departmental collaboration, and institutional research reporting. His scholarly works include published studies in international conferences focusing on malware classification, machine vision systems, static analysis of executable files, and time-series forecasting. He is an active member of several professional organizations such as the Analytics Association of the Philippines, IEEE, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Control Systems Council, and the International Association of Engineers, reflecting his strong commitment to continuous professional growth and contribution to the field of Information Technology and Computer Engineering education.
