Dr. Sherrlyn Mendrez Rasdas is a highly accomplished academic leader and IT specialist currently serving as the Extension Unit Head at Cavite State University Naic. She recently earned her Doctor in Information Technology (DIT) from the Technological Institute of the Philippines Manila in May 2024 as a Faculty & Staff Development Program Scholar. This advanced degree complements her Master in Information Technology from the Technological University of the Philippines and her Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Cavite State University – Indang. Throughout her career, she has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, from graduating as Salutatorian in high school to receiving various service and paper presentation awards in her professional tenure.
With over two decades of professional experience, Dr. Rasdas has transitioned from a core IT Instructor at STI College and Cavite State University to high-level administrative and research leadership roles. In her current capacity as Director and Designated Faculty Extensionist, she orchestrates institutional R&D strategies to bridge the gap between academic innovation and industrial application. Her expertise is particularly focused on Smart Agri-fisheries, where she applies Applied Machine Learning, Ensemble Learning, and Artificial Intelligence to solve complex environmental challenges. She has successfully led significant community extension projects funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Agriculture, managing budgets up to 2.5 million pesos to foster sustainable livelihood programs.
Dr. Rasdas is also a prolific researcher with a strong international profile, having published work in an international journal and presented at prestigious global conferences in Japan, Thailand, and India. Her technical proficiency is supported by advanced training in Python, Power BI, and Data Analytics, as well as professional certifications including being a Registered Teacher under the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and holding a National Certificate II in Computer Hardware Service. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Philippine Computer Society (PCS), PSITE, and APCORE, reflecting her commitment to the continuous advancement of information technology and community development.
