Professor Dr. Kartini Aboo Talib Khalid possesses extensive teaching and research experience at both national and international levels. She commenced her career as a Senior Lecturer at Northeastern University from 2006 to 2008 and subsequently held the position of Deputy Director at the Institute of Ethnic Studies, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Kartini was awarded a Fulbright scholarship and earned her doctoral degree in Law, Policy, and Society from Northeastern University in Boston. She is trained as a policy analyst and has completed five major national policy papers for the government. Additionally, she has delivered keynote addresses at several regional conferences and was invited to lecture at SIMI Swiss from 2022 to 2023 and at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences for the Summer Academy Program from 2013 to 2015. She served as an invited speaker on various topics at the University of Essex, Durham University, Paris Versailles University, France, and Xiamen University in China in 2023. She was appointed as the Country Consultant for Malaysia at the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women in 2014. Her research and publications predominantly focus on public policy and ethnicity, encompassing themes of gender, civil society, comparative politics, and consumerism. Her recognitions awarded by UKM include the Best Fellow of the Year (2021, 2013), Best MyRA Publication (2021), Best MyRA Graduate Supervision (2020), Best MyRA Researcher (2020, 2022, 2023), and Best Innovation UKM IDEA (2015).
