The institute opens anew with the expansion of its current membership to include junior fellows and institutional libraries beginning January 2023. The junior fellow is open to high school or undergraduate students passionate about research, training and life-long learning while library membership is open to designated institutional librarians. There is no membership fee.
The move to expand membership is prompted by the institute’s commitment to continuously build an academic community. The president, Dr. Rodrigo M. Velasco, believes that the research culture must not be limited to graduate students and professionals. The nurturing starts from the schools at the stage where students begin with their academic research writing. Meanwhile, school librarians have important responsibility in the production and dissemination of knowledge and information.
