Nicholas Caballero

As the Dean of the College of Criminal Justice Education at STI West Negros University, Dr. Nicholas S. Caballero is a dedicated and highly qualified criminologist with over 25 years of academic and professional experience in criminology, criminal justice, and law enforcement. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Criminology from the University of Cebu, complemented by a Master’s degree in Criminology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Criminology. He is a registered criminologist and serves as a national lecturer for the Criminology Board Review.

His professional affiliations include membership and advisory roles in prominent organizations such as the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP), the Federation of Authors in Criminology and Criminal Justice, Inc. (FACCI), and the Western Visayas Criminal Justice Education Council of Deans (WVCJECODE), among others. He also serves as an accreditor for criminology programs under PACUCOA.

As an author, Dr. Caballero has published multiple textbooks and instructional materials on criminology, character formation, cybercrime investigation, and environmental laws, thereby contributing to the academic community and enhancing criminology education in the Philippines. His research covers a wide range of topics, including crime prevention, law enforcement practices, and the lived experiences of police officers, with several publications in reputable journals and presentations at international conferences.

He continuously pursues professional development through seminars, training, and workshops on topics such as accreditation, remote instruction, cybersecurity, forensic sciences, and digital investigations. His commitment to advancing criminology education and law enforcement practices is evident in his active involvement in research, publications, and leadership roles within academic and professional organizations.
