Image filtering is essential for a variety of tasks in image processing and computer vision. It improves image quality, decreases noise, and is critical in edge recognition, feature extraction, and segmentation. Relatively, this study aimed to manipulate the image using linear operations. In addition, the study also used the same operations of linear algebra such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication to further prove the method’s reliability. In this paper, the Linear Operations under Linear Algebra, was used to manipulate the filters of three images. Furthermore, a user-friendly application, Python Programming Language, was also utilized to show an easier way of converting image into matrix vice versa and perform the operations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The result of this study, image processing can be taught through the application of linear algebra especially its operations such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication. The utilization of Python may help the teachers in facilitating the learning of the topic. This technology may also provide opportunities for the students to experience success, thus avoiding failure and gaining interest in Computer Science and Linear Algebra. This study demonstrated the power and versatility of matrix operations in image filtering.
