The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound effect on the world, and research institutions have certainly felt its impact as well. Yet, while the coronavirus has brought many challenges to academic research, public trust in the work of researchers has increased. The pandemic has brought a spirit of collaboration to research institutions. COVID-19 gives institutions a chance to reimagine what’s possible moving forward.

And IIARI took that opportunity to move forward and collaborate with different institutions and decided to have a research competition. The IIARI Research Competition (IRC) is an epitome of the organization’s commitment to knowledge and research. True to its mission, IIARI upholds the value of research and education for intellectual growth and development. IRC aims to nurture research culture among the students in various education levels.  It is a national competition open to the Filipino student-researchers across the Philippines. It brings forth a venue for the high school, undergraduate and graduate students to display their research writing prowess. With the objectives of – continuously developing a strong research culture among students; providing a platform for the dissemination and publication of student research outputs; fostering collaboration among student-researchers around the globe; and developing camaraderie among fellows in the industry and academic community. There are three categories of the competition:

Category 1. High School Students. This competition is open to senior high school students.

Category 2. Undergraduate Students. This competition is open to undergraduate students in any specializations.

Category 3. Graduate Students. This competition is open to graduate students both in Masters and Doctorate levels in any specializations.

IRC-2021 has three levels namely: first, second and final round.
