Dr. Kumaran A/L Gengatharan is a dedicated educator and researcher with a diverse background in teaching, coaching, and innovation. With a bachelor’s degree in teaching specializing in the Tamil language and a doctorate in sports science, he possesses a strong academic foundation complemented by extensive practical experience in the field of education. Dr. Kumaran’s professional journey began as a teacher at various schools in Malaysia, where he honed his pedagogical skills and demonstrated a passion for nurturing young minds. He has served in both primary and secondary educational settings, including SJKT Kinrara Puchong, SJKT Arumugan Pillai, and SK Bedong, where he contributed significantly to students’ academic and personal development.

In addition to his teaching roles, Dr. Kumaran has emerged as a prominent figure in the field of sports coaching, particularly in athletics, badminton, and kabaddi. His expertise extends beyond the classroom, as evidenced by his involvement as a technical officer and coach in various national and state-level sports associations, including the Malaysian Athletic Federation, Badminton Association of Malaysia, and Persatuan Kabaddi Amateur Malaysia. Dr. Kumaran’s commitment to innovation and research is evident through his extensive participation in international conferences, seminars, and competitions. He has presented numerous papers on topics ranging from health education to educational leadership, earning recognition for his contributions to academia. Furthermore, his research endeavors have resulted in several publications in reputable journals, showcasing his dedication to advancing knowledge and improving educational practices.

As a lecturer at IPGK Sultan Abdul Halim and a postdoctoral researcher at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Dr. Kumaran continues to inspire future educators and researchers through his dynamic teaching methods and mentorship. His proficiency in various languages, including Malay, English, and Tamil, enhances his ability to engage with diverse audiences and facilitate effective communication. Driven by a passion for lifelong learning and professional development, Dr. Kumaran holds certifications in educational technologies and is actively involved in professional organizations such as the Malaysian Mental Health Association and the Malaysia Innovation, Invention, and Creativity Association.

As a Mental Health First aid and experienced educator, he is committed to promoting holistic well-being and fostering innovative solutions to educational challenges. Overall, Dr. Kumaran’s multifaceted expertise, coupled with his unwavering dedication to excellence, makes him a valuable asset to the education sector and a catalyst for positive change in the community.
