Dr. Zvisinei Moyo graduated with a Doctor of Education in Education Management from the University of South Africa, Pretoria. She holds a Master’s in Education (specialising in Educational Administration, Planning and Policy Studies) from the Zimbabwe Open University Harare, Zimbabwe, Bachelor of Science Degree (specialising in Special Education) from the Zimbabwe Open University, Harare, Zimbabwe and a Diploma in Education (specialising in foundation phase) from the University of Zimbabwe, Harare, Zimbabwe. She is a Senior lecturer in the Department of Educational Leadership and Management in the Faculty of Education at the University of Johannesburg. Zvisinei has been a lecturer in the Education Leadership, Policy and Skills Division at the University of the Witwatersrand. She completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and served as a M.Ed. and B.Ed. Honours Online Teaching Assistant in the Department of Educational Leadership and Management at the University of Johannesburg. She has also served as B.Ed. and B.Ed. Honours Marker and Master’s and Doctoral External examiner in the Department of Educational Leadership at the University of South Africa. Moyo has taught at schools in Zimbabwe and South Africa as well as the University of South Africa.

She has published in the field of school leadership and teachers living with HIV/AIDS, female migrant teachers, women leading education in disadvantaged contexts and social justice. She has conducted a systematic literature review in women leading and managing education. She has managed 19 journal article publications in DHET accredited journal list and 7 book chapters in edited books as well as 1 book chapter and 4 journal articles accepted for publication. She is a beneficiary of the South African National Research Foundation Freestanding Postdoctoral Fellowship 2019 to 2020. She has been the recipient of the 2018 Recognition of Excellence for Outstanding Achievement in Research and Academic Citizenship in the Postdoctoral Research Fellow Programme of the University of Johannesburg. She has presented her work at numerous national and international conferences. Moyo has examined PhD and Master’s theses at the University of South Africa, University of the Witwatersrand, Central University of Technology, North-West University and University of Johannesburg. She has also reviewed several Master’s and Doctoral research proposals at the University of Johannesburg as well as University of Pretoria and University of the Witwatersrand. Her programme of research has three related foci. The first, focuses on women in education leadership and management. She studies the different approaches to education leadership. Since she is interested in how women are dealing with classical patriarchal systemic societal structures, this also engages her in the critical analysis of gender issues in education. This combined focus on women leading education and gender issues has also led her towards a third line of inquiry, the study of social justice in education. She is committed to be part of professionals working with commitment and passion for excellence attainment in a dynamic and challenging environment.
